  • Asset Development: Visiting venues taking photos and creating original content for the platforms. Whilst ensuring content created is optimised for platforms and adhering to best practise
  • Planning: Be able to develop a social media strategic response to wider marketing briefs working closely with the marketing, events and ops team
  • Community Management: know how to create and manage follower engagements and interactions both from an owned channel and earned conversation perspective

We have an exciting opportunity for a part-time creative Social Media Manager to join the team in our Melbourne CBD office.
 

About the Role


Working closely with the Owner, General Manager and the events team to deliver social media management across three distinctive brands.

The Social Media Manager is an integral member of the marketing team. You’ll need exceptional knowledge and understanding of the whole spectrum of the social media landscape – including content creation, formats and publishing algorithms, planning and execution of socially-led campaigns, and an understanding of the latest technologies impacting key global platforms. 

You’re a creative professional who knows how to take a great photo and use the Adobe suite of products. You’re fluent in GIFs, Boomerangs, Instastories and ephemeral video.


You love social and understand the complexities and nuances between brand tone and voice. You are naturally curious, always seeking out best practise examples, and love to break down barriers with new ways of doing things. 


You’re a confident communicator with excellent written skills and superb attention to detail, ensuring flawless execution of all social content. 

The Venues
The Carlton Club and the Windsor Castle are Melbourne institutions. Superfluid is a plant-based café located in Fitzroy and the latest addition to the family. Our little sister is a little bit cheeky, uber cool and totally rock’n’roll. Superfluid embodies the principals of the healthy party animal.

The Carlton Club is a busy venue which features four unique spaces including three outdoor areas and a restaurant which is open seven days per week.  

The Windsor Castle is every body favourite south-side local. It has a beer garden and a restaurant which is open seven days per week.
  
The Highlights

  • Planning: Be able to develop a social media strategic response to wider marketing briefs working closely with the marketing, events and ops team
  • Capturing: Visit venues and take photographs of food and people to share
  • Publishing: Understanding platform nuances and how and when to publish
  • Live Publishing: Plan logistics around live capture and publishing across multiple platforms, and be able to live publish in reactive and fast-paced environments
  • Messaging: working knowledge of messaging and the opportunities associated with the channel
  • Asset Development: Visiting venues taking photos and creating original content for the platforms. Whilst ensuring content created is optimised for platforms and adhering to best practise
  • Community Management: know how to create and manage follower engagements and interactions both from an owned channel and earned conversation perspective
  • Innovation: Staying on top of, and proactively sharing trends in social media, and contributing to platform strategy evolutions and campaign development

Experience required:

  • 3+ years of social media or community management experience
  • Strong writing and editing skills; the ability to write for different audiences including consumers of all ages
  • A trained eye and instinct for the small details that matter and stand out from the crowd
  • Prior agency experience is a plus
  • A real passion for creating original and attention-grabbing content, as well as staying at the fore front of social media trends
  • Strong organisation and project management skills
  • Experience working with social media in hospitality is a plus but not a necessity
  • Photography experience 
  • 2+ years of graphic design experience

You

  • Demonstrate a strong work ethic and willingness to learn; enthusiasm is a must
  • A natural communicator – confident in presenting social campaigns and activities to different parts of the business
  • Ability to interpret, prioritise and deliver actions with a sharp attention to detail
  • Strong interest in and understanding of the digital media landscape, particularly within Social Media
  • A terrific sense of humour and wit
  • Interest in fashion, art and design industry is a plus
  • Degree level education
