About No.7 Healesville

Located in what has emerged as Healesville’s most exciting new precinct, and with neighbours such as Four Pillars Gin distillery and Payten & Jones Wines, No.7 Healesville will encompass a state-of-the-art communal urban winery, events space and cellar door which will showcase the wines made onsite by an exciting new wave of wine makers.

With access to winemaking facilities and equipment for wine production becoming increasingly difficult for young winemakers, an idea was formed by the Frazer family (Stones of the Yarra Valley, Meletos, The Stables at Stones) to provide a facility for Australia’s next generation of winemakers to produce small batch wine in a professional and supportive environment under the No.7 Young Winemakers Program.

In addition to the Young Winemakers Program, No.7 will also offer a unique Vintage Membership program for it's Coterie members to get involved with the winemaking process. This innovative and interactive membership will see the fusion of food, wine, new friends and good times over a series of unique winemaking sessions held throughout the year.

The operation of the winery will be managed by Head Winemaker Kaspar Hermann (previously winemaker at Mount Mary, Coldstream Hills, Yering Station, Punch Winery and Onannon) and features world-class equipment including a Scharfenberger de-stemmer and press. From the day the fruit arrives, to the moment the bottle is labelled, No.7 has the capacity to facilitate all aspects of the winemaking process on site. 

A Cellar Door, Tapas Bar and events space alongside the winery will offer a unique food & wine experience to showcase the best regional produce and wines made on-site.


About the role

As Venue Manager, you will be responsible for the management of No.7’s Cellar Door, Tapas Bar and events space.

This is certainly a 'hands-on' position and demands a respected team leader who is willing to lead from within a small and dedicated team.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Administrational tasks such as reporting, cash up, stocktake and ordering.
  • Recruitment, rostering and training of staff to ensure every member of your team is fluent in the overall philosophy of the venue as well as the food & wine offering.
  • Creation of all policies and procedures required for the Front of House team to ensure a seamless and high standard of service.
  • Adherence to all OH&S and RSA requirements and ensuring a safe, positive and inclusive workplace for your team.
  • Driving standards with regards to professionalism and quality of food and wine service.
  • Contributing creatively to ideas with regards to the food, wine and event offering at No.7.
  • Working closely with No.7’s Head Chef and Head Winemaker to ensure the delivery of an exceptional customer experience and ongoing progression of the venue.

 

This full-time position will require the availability to work a flexible 7 day roster however main working days will be Thursday – Monday.

The flexibility to manage some evening shifts for private events is required.

The successful candidate will have the ability to commence immediately, subject to their availability, in preparation for our opening in late January.

  • You have a rich and relevant experience within the wine and hospitality industries including leading, training and managing from within.
  • You have an impressive knowledge and passion for Australian and international wine, spirits, and craft beer.
  • You know your industry and have a strong interest in current trends in the food & wine scene.
  • Your energy and passion for food, wine and events is infectious!
  • You’re comfortable and confident in liaising with guests, upselling and encouraging customers to try new and interesting wines.
  • You’re well-presented and demonstrate excellent communication skills.
