A new venture in the restaurant/wine scene is coming to Darlinghurst. Located on Darlinghurst 'Eat Street' eliza food and wine will deliver modern and confident food complemented by a sophisticated and exciting wine list.

This stylish eatery has been created with approachability in mind, something for everyone in a modern and airy space.

eliza food and wine is headed up by Executive Chef and part owner, Jeremy Bentley, Michelin trained and former owner and Head Chef of the highly awarded, 'the devonshire' in Surry Hills.

As Restaurant Manger you will be responsible for managing all of the aspects of front of house and will work closely with the Executive Chef/Owner to help deliver the vision of eliza food and wine.

As an integral part of a small team, you must be happy to roll up your sleeves and help in all areas as required.

You will be responsible for the mentoring and developing of your front of house team, providing training to educate staff, develop product knowledge, service skills and deliver an enthusiastic, attention detailed, supportive, yet hard-working team culture.

The role also includes: -

  • Vision and drive to improve and build a new business in an exciting food location
  • Working within wage cost parameters to manage staff rosters
  • Ordering, stock control and managing financial transactions
  • Customer service and complaint resolution
  • Planning and organising special functions
  • Ensuring website is updated with any changes to food or drink menus
  • Responsible for managing general enquiries email account
  • Ensuring dining facilities comply with health regulations and are clean, functional and of suitable appearance.
  • Main point of contact for arriving guests, assisting with service, taking orders
  • Handling and managing bookings via the online reservation system.
  • Assisting the owners with achieving operational and financial budgets
  • Conferring with customers to assess their satisfaction with meals and service

Skills & Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar management role
  • Knowledge and a genuine passion about wine and spirits
  • Experience co-ordinating a busy restaurant service
  • An upbeat and positive personality
  • The ability to build longstanding relationships with clients and staff
  • The ability to work well under pressure
  • Self-motivated and excellent organisational skills with good attention to detail
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • Good business acumen
  • Dedicated to providing high quality service at a consistent level
  • Well-groomed/presented
  • Professional and enthusiastic
  • Reliable with a strong work ethic
  • Valid NSW RSA
  • Must be able to work nights
  • Must be able to work weekends
  • Must have working rights in Australia
  • Must be able to speak fluent English
