Two Providores is an Australian, family owned food distributor. Based in Marrickville, we deliver premium local produce to our food service and retail customers across NSW. We are a growing business that rewards employees for delivering customer care that goes beyond the everyday.

The role

You’ll be answering the phone and greeting customers who pick up at the warehouse with attentive, well-informed and helpful service.

At the same time, you’ll need to understand our warehouse operations, distribution and logistics and, ideally, have up to date knowledge of food safety and HACCP principles.

Duties include:

  • Answering customer telephone enquiries and entering all phone and email orders quickly and accurately into our system
  • Advising customers on availability of products and liaising with the operations staff to propose substitutes where necessary
  • Greeting customers and processing invoices and payments for collection customers
  • Playing an active part in crisis management, product returns and responding to all sorts of questions and issues arising from both customers and colleagues in a friendly and professional manner
  • Owning and managing our customer database – setting up new accounts, and recording service information for existing customers
  • Undertaking regular product training to ensure accurate information is provided to our customers
  • Involvement in content planning sessions with our marketing and events team as the voice of the consumer

To be considered for this position you’ll need:

  • A minimum two years’ experience in a similar role – customer service in a food environment (encompassing order entry, inventory management and logistics). This is essential. Do not apply if you don’t have previous experience in a similar role.
  • A love of good Australian food, and the ability to cross-sell
  • A pragmatic, can-do approach to all customer requests. A great rapport with customers on the phone (a good sense of humour helps too)
  • Excellent Email, Word and Excel skills
  • To be available between the hours of 6am – 7pm Monday to Friday, as well as the occasional Sunday afternoon shift. Obviously you won’t be working all these hours but you may be rostered on for the early or late shifts.
