We are looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to drive the growth and retention of Hunted + Gathered accounts. Success in this role will come from an ability to deliver an effective sales strategy and build long term relationships across our key channels as well as distribution and brand partnerships.

Hunted + Gathered is a Melbourne collective with a singular mission to explore the depths and flavours of the cacao bean. Creating chocolate from bean to bar with no more than five ingredients, in fact most have just three, we source cacao beans directly from co-ops in Central and South America.

Our philosophy is that simple is best and usually tastes better too. We place an emphasis on small details to create things we can be proud of.

About the role

Based in Hunted + Gathered’s head office in Cremorne, the role is made up of three main areas of responsibility;

Building new business through the development of sales pipelines, proactive engagement with relevant customers, retailers and distributers across key channels and end to end management of networks through CRM tools including onboarding new accounts to ensure an excellent experience with the Hunted + Gathered brand.

Leading sales growth within existing accounts through exceptional relationship management including regular communication and engagement with key accounts, identifying additional opportunities for add on sales and timely resolution of customer feedback. Sales growth will also come from brand aligned marketing and collaboration opportunities.

Insightful reporting and analysis to provide visibility to sales performance, inform sales forecasting (by customer and SKU) and prioritisation decisions.

You will also work closely with your direct reports to ensure a high level of performance and a consistent approach to the sales for all accounts.

About you

You’re an experienced self-starter who is proactive, adaptive and has a desire to learn. You have natural sales skills and comfortable with the end to end sales process. You will be able to represent and pitch the Hunted + Gathered brand with confidence and win over the hearts and minds of new and existing business.    

You are customer focussed and can think on your feet to handle all types of situations and interactions. You don’t shy away from putting in the work and have a natural eye for detail, process and learning new systems.
