Skyline Creative, a holistic boutique provider of real estate marketing and social content, is seeking a passionate head of video post-production to join our Sydney studio and help push the boundaries of the industry.
This position requires a video editor with experience in a variety of editing techniques in providing leading Real Estate agencies with property and profile videos of the highest quality, as well as a range of lifestyle and social content. Experience within the Real Estate industry is by no means necessary, however strong editing skills, a keen eye for detail, creative thinking, and the ability to meet strict deadlines is a must.
This is also a leadership position within the company. Along with your own editing work, you will also help guide and nurture our existing team, implementing best practices and new creative styles.
Applicants must have advanced knowledge of Adobe Premiere and After Effects including colour grading, creating and modifying motion graphics and working independently to a guideline. You will be taking the project from raw to complete, so will want to be the kind of person that can complete their vision, not just take it to 90%.
The role is full-time, Monday to Friday, and based out of our studio in Chippendale.
Being a smaller boutique agency, we are committed to pushing the creativity in the industry. Our clients are attracted to us because we steer away from boring traditional property videos and try and bring elements from other creative mediums into our work. As such, as a full-time member of the team you will have the opportunity to collaborate, guide, and define the creative direction of our work. Collaboration, selflessness and being adventurous are core-values of Skyline and very much encouraged day to day.
Shooting skills are worth noting, and if so a list of gear owned and examples of your work.
How to apply
If you think you might be the right person for this job, please apply with a PDF cover letter explaining why we would be lucky to have you, with links to your x3 personal favourite edits (you’ve edited) explaining why they are your favourite, as well as the biggest challenge each one had. Also, please include a link to one of our video and provide 3x comments on ways you would improve it from an post point of view.
Feel free to include a resume, but we rarely take it into consideration. Your education and set experience means very little compared to your visual output, sense of style and ability to demonstrate your skills through your work. However noting any team leadership would be great.
Please take some thought though with your cover letter if you decide to apply. Following instructions (aka a brief) is an important skill for the role, as is your ability to communicate creative and technical ideas. What has been asked has been asked with purpose, as the person who will flourish and build a career in this role will be one who is passionate about their work.
Please note, due to the high level of applications to creative roles, as well as the increase in bot-applicants, the review process takes on average 2-3 weeks, with only successful applicants being contacted. We most welcome conversations about the role so feel free to reach out personally if you wish.
