We have an opening for a skilled baker/pastry chef to join our South Melbourne sourdough bakery team.
This is a full time position for an experienced bread baker, preferably with some skills in the pastry area, or an interest in learning the skills of vienoisserie production.
This position crosses two sections, and would involve bread baking, mixing, moulding, proving, eating.... and some pastry lamination for danish and puff pastries.
Our bread is true sourdough, made by hand with passion and in small batches. We have an unusual selection, with influences from Central Europe. Think ryes and pretzels.
Our pastries are top quality, using high grade flours and butters. We choose not to use any improvers or additives in our breads and pastries.
We use local ingredients where possible, seasonal real fruits instead of canned or preservative treated, and real meat in slow-cooked pie fillings.
Everything we sell is manufactured in our kitchen, and we are particularly proud of this.

Dench bakers are looking for a baker able to work as part of a team and/or independently with 2 years + experience with mixing, shaping and oven work - both deck and rack. This is a night time position starting around 6/7pm.
