Trader House, Andrew McConnell's restaurant group (which includes venues such as Cutler & Co, Supernormal, Cumulus Inc, Builders Arms Hotel and Gimlet) is seeking an experienced EVENTS OPERATIONS MANAGER to join the start up team for a new events business launching in early 2021.

You will be a fundamental team member that will help to define and establish one of Melbourne’s most exciting catering and events businesses.

We're looking for an experienced and driven Events Operations Manager to oversee and actively execute all events managing our front of house team and working in tandem with our sales and kitchen teams.  The events operations manager will be crucial in establishing a sound working process of systems and standards that elevate our event brand to be recognised as Melbourne’s best for excellence in restaurant style experiences in an events environment.   The ideal candidate will be flexible, professional, honest, creative and focused on success.

Key attributes we are seeking:

  • Minimum 3 years experiences in the events industry in a similar operations focused role
  • Experience in executing large scale, multi-location events including 'off site' events (not only venue/restaurant based) across a large range of event categories (ie weddings, corporate events)
  • Strong knowledge of the hospitality and events industry including suppliers and trends
  • Proven ability to recruit, mentor and develop a cohesive operational team
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills with proven ability to build effective professional relationships with clients, guests and co workers
  • A high level of attention to detail combined with a passion to deliver exceptional experiences for our clients and guests
  • Exceptional ability with events logistics
  • Experience in compliance including OH&S, Covid Safety, RSA and work force management
  • Financial acumen - ability to set forecasts and work to budgets, understanding of costs including beverage and wages
  • High end restaurant and sales and marketing experience would be highly beneficial
