Role and Responsibilities
The role will involve:
- With the manager, overseeing the operation of the restaurant kitchen;
- Training junior kitchen staff including cooks on food preparation and presentation;
- Planning and modifying menus based on seasonal considerations and customer demand;
- Preparing, portioning and presenting meals in accordance with our modern European menu;
- Ensuring the quality and consistency of prepared meals, including by ensuring consistent portions per the menu;
- Preparing food to specialised dietary requirements as requested by customers;
- Ensuring adherence to food safety and occupational health requirements.
Qualifications
The suitable applicant will be reliable and responsible and have a work history demonstrating continuous and recent employment in busy kitchen environments. Qualifications include:
- Certificate III and IV in Commercial Cookery and Diploma in Hospitality or Management;
- At least 2 years’ recent experience in a busy commercial kitchen;
- Strong experience in Italian and Continental cuisine, preferably in a Pizzeria, will be prioritised;
- Unrestricted right to work in Australia on a full-time and permanent basis is essential.
Salary
The annual salary for the position is $57,000.00 (ex. Superannuation).
