Coppersmith is seeking a Head Chef for their high-end boutique Hotel & gastropub located in South Melbourne/ Albert Park.

We are looking for a creative passionate, new Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef looking to step up and take the challenge to lead and create a new team in these Covid Challenging times with the full support of the owners. We own and operate the Coppersmith with passion. We will supply you with the blank canvas for you to create your masterpiece and make your mark.

 

About You

You will be a qualified chef, with a strong reputation for your culinary expertise. It is a requirement to be able to work under pressure whilst remaining calm and collected. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Strong knowledge of kitchen operations, including assessing food quality and presentations.
  • Sound financial capabilities in managing kitchen costs.
  • A passion for developing new menu ideas.
  • Experience mentoring and training a small team.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to run a multi-faceted kitchen.
  • High level written and verbal communication skills.
  • An enthusiastic and energetic approach.
  • Lead by example, can do attitude.

 

The Role

This position is to oversee the development of delicious dishes and manage a team to ensure product and service quality. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Day-to-day management of the kitchen and its operations
  • Menu development, including establishing and maintaining recipes.
  • Maintaining food and wage costs to the company's targets
  • Stock management and ordering
  • Mentoring and training the kitchen team
