We are on the lookout for a creative, adventurous chef to take their next step up to run our small kitchen, serving simple, honest, creative dishes to support an ever-evolving list of local & French wines.

We are looking for an ambitious chef with fresh ideas and a creative flair to develop a focused menu of small, simple dishes that sing alongside our wines.


About Us

Since late 2021, (aka post-COVID) Bouzy Bar has been refining and redefining. Our vision for Bouzy is a welcoming, casual local hero of a wine bar where our neighbours and visitors can drop in for a casual drink and bite, grab a bottle for home, or stay into the small hours, any day of the week.


Our wines mix it up between locals from across Australia & our friends in France, and we aren’t afraid to put humble drops next to extravagant exceptional names on our list. Our spirits (and our spirit) are unashamedly local, and our we have plenty of fun exploring variations on the classics and dreaming up new ideas mixing the creations of our local distillers & producers.


We love the flavours of our native back yard, and we are on a mission to develop a fresh, flexible menu of simple small bites and sharing plates to showcase those flavours while supporting the hero – the wine list, the cocktails, the bar.


We are a small, tight knit team, with an engaged ownership team who are happy to get their hands dirty alongside you day to day.


About You


In our early days, we offered our customers a formal French dining experience. Our journey has taken us from those beginnings into something entirely new, but knowledge of French food is welcome, to throw into the mix as a nod to our heritage.


Because we are small, we need each and every person on our team to be open, communicative, respectful, and above all, a team player. Our ideal chef is kind & open minded, creative, and humble.


We hold ourselves accountable and so should you, and we always make sure to deliver the best experience possible. You are open to feedback, good and bad, and willing to change directions and try new ideas when established paths don’t work. You empower the people around you to make a positive impact and encourage open dialogue.


We are here for our customers first and foremost, and so you will need to bring your most empathetic, solutions-focused self with you every day.


The successful candidate will: 

  • Work with us to set new directions as we redefine the Bouzy brand.
  • Collaborate, experiment, and maintain open dialogue with all areas of the business.
  • Research, design, and price the menus.
  • Work together with owners and management to coordinate events.
  • Facilitate the hiring, training, and scheduling of all kitchen staff within budgets.
  • Manage cost of goods within budget targets on a day to day basis.
