We believe that exceptional customer and staff experience is underpinned by seamless operations and are looking for an experienced, well-rounded Venue Manager to lead our Collingwood team.

This role would be most suited to someone who has proven experience  in Spa, Hotel, or Hospitality management, and someone who understands the intricacies of a fast paced and dynamic service environment. You will lead the Collingwood Site in achieving its strategic and financial goals, whilst maintaining and ensuring exceptional quality and service levels throughout the whole venue. This role is hands-on and requires a can-do attitude, a passion for problem solving, leadership skills, and fluency in business acumen. 


Key responsibilities:

  • Managing daily operations of both the bathhouse & massage studio- everything from coordinating the teams, ensuring the water safety in the pools, serving and assisting guests, and jumping in to cover sick leave when required
  • Working on-shift in the bathhouse to lead the team through the day-to-day service-
  • Direct management and coaching of two team leads whilst being a support, and the person responsible, for all team members venue-wide
  • Stock management of sundries, retail items and consumables to ensure we have what we need when we need it
  • Ensuring building maintenance is kept up-to date by scheduling and liaising with external contractors to keep SOS in tip-top condition
  • Recruitment of new hires- someone who knows what to look for and understands how to build a team filled with aligned, dedicated and passionate people
  • A team builder- someone who can lead by example, motivate those around them, build a lasting culture,  and foster inter-team relationships
  • Financial management of the business units, including profitability and financial performance in line with budgets and KPI’s

Availability: 

  • This is a full time position over a 5-day working week roster*
  • Note that this role is as much about being behind the scenes as it is being a presence on the floor leading the team and guests

 

*This is not a Monday- Friday role as we operate 7 days a week, however, we are very considerate of creating balance within every role at SOS



Skills & Experience

  • 3+ years experience in a similar management position;
  • A people person who is empathetic and able to lead, nurture and grow your team
  • IT savvy & a problem solver; you can think on your feet and adapt to handle high pressure service periods;
  • Energetic, positive and an excellent communicator
  • A high degree of self-management, time-management and excellent organisational skills;
  • Reliable and accountable, with strong and proven leadership skills;
  • Familiarity and excellence in communication & email etiquette;
  • Professional and self-aware when it comes to dealing with both customers and your team;
  • Familiarity with, or a willingness to learn and teach an array of software, including: Slack, Notion, Deputy, Front, Acuity & Google Suite + more…
