We are seeking an experienced and talented Head Chef to lead our kitchen team at The Last One Inn, a modern Australian restaurant with a South American influence. We are seeking someone to take the next step in their career & together grow to the next level putting their own stamp on a busy venue.

**Job Description:**

 

We are in search of an experienced and talented Head Chef to lead our kitchen team and elevate our culinary offerings to new heights. As the Head Chef, you will have the opportunity to oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, menu development, food preparation, and ensure the delivery of the highest quality dishes. We are looking for an individual who can continue our growth while adding their own creative touch to our concept.

 

**Responsibilities:**

 

- Lead and manage the kitchen team, including chefs, cooks, and kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and efficient working culture.

- Develop and create innovative, seasonally inspired menus that reflect our modern Australian and South American fusion concept.

- Ensure the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and taste are consistently maintained to exceed guest expectations.

- Source and select the finest local and seasonal ingredients, establishing strong relationships with local suppliers and farmers.

- Oversee food preparation, cooking techniques, and plating to deliver exceptional dishes that showcase our culinary expertise.

- Train and mentor kitchen staff, ensuring a high level of culinary skills and professionalism throughout the team.

- Manage kitchen inventory, control costs, and ensure adherence to budgetary guidelines.

- Maintain a safe and clean working environment, strictly adhering to all health and safety regulations.

- Collaborate with management to develop and implement strategies that drive business growth and enhance customer satisfaction.

 

**Requirements:**

 

- Proven experience as a Head Chef or Executive Chef in a high-quality restaurant or similar establishment.

- In-depth knowledge of modern Australian and South American cuisine, as well as expertise in cooking techniques over fire.

- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team to achieve culinary excellence.

- Creative and innovative mindset, with a passion for culinary excellence and a willingness to experiment with flavors and techniques.

- Excellent organizational and time management skills to effectively handle a fast-paced environment and pressure.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with team members and provide clear instructions.

- Food safety and hygiene certification required to ensure adherence to the highest standards of food safety.
