CAPI Sparkling is a young and dynamic FMCG brand that produces a range of mineral waters, mixers, and fruit sodas. Operating from the national head office in Melbourne, the role is responsible for assisting the Marketing Manager in executing on a wide range of marketing, brand and PR related strategies and initiatives.

You will be part of an intimate in-house marketing team consisting of 4 marketing coordinators, reporting directly to the Marketing Manager. Being part of small team means you will have a very active and impactful role in this business.

 

The primary objectives of this role are to:

  • Ensure that all product packaging (for both local and export) are in line with Capi’s brand identity and direction, and compliant with relevant laws and guidelines
  • Effectively support the Sales Team to ensure sales pitches and presentations as well as in-store or on premise promotional strategies are on-brand and aligned with the overall marketing strategy
  • Collaborate with lawyers to register all relevant trademarks under local and international jurisdictions
  • Liaise with and manage external PR agencies for PR campaigns or offline advertising
  • Assist with drafting all product and brand-related communications and copy
  • Provide marketing support and insights to any innovation and new product development initiatives

 

Qualifications

  • Tertiary Degree in Marketing or related field

 

Experience and Competencies (essential)

  • Proven experience with managing and working with various marketing/creative professionals including agencies, designers, photographers, and digital specialists
  • Proven experience with driving sales and ROI via effective brand positioning, pricing, packaging, and/or PR and advertising campaigns and events

 

Key Responsibilities

Product Packaging

  • Undertaking competitor research and analysis and providing marketing insights into how to improve brand positioning (in both local and export markets) via product packaging and design
  • Project managing the coordination, timelines, design, development, copy writing and delivery of all product packaging from ‘mock up’ stage to print.
  • Effectively engaging with external designers to manage all creative design elements and artwork
  • Ensuring that all labels, claims and copy are technically accurate and compliant with industry and legal standards (both local and export)

Sales Support

  • Supplying the sales team with marketing content and/or materials for sales presentations and pitches
  • Project managing the coordination, timelines, design, development, copy writing and delivery of all sales, POS and related marketing collateral from ‘mock up’ stage to print.
  • Assisting with the setting of effective pricing and promotional strategies in-line with overall brand positioning
  • Providing marketing insights into local and international trends, competitor results and product performance to help inform sales and customer relationship management strategies
  • Assisting with briefing and managing external merchandising reps

Trade Marks

  • Managing the register of trade marks to ensure our brand, in its various forms, is legally protected in all relevant jurisdictions
  • Liaising with and briefing external lawyers as required

PR & Communications

  • Collaborating with Marketing and PR agencies for any offline promotional campaigns.
  • Assisting the Marketing Team with drafting any product or brand-related copy and communications.

Product Development

  • Undertaking competitor research and analysis and providing marketing insights into how to improve brand positioning (in both local and export markets) via product composition and innovation
  • Providing marketing input and support to the Supply Chain team on any new product development
  • If required, conducting tests and user trials and obtaining market feedback via online, interviews or focus groups to further refine the product composition or specifications if necessary

  • Ensuring that all product packaging in the market are of high-quality, legally and technically compliant, and well-positioned in the market to meet the demand of our target consumers
  • Effectively supporting our Sales Team by thoroughly understanding their stakeholder needs and being able to deliver marketing and promotional strategies to drive sales growth and enable positive customer relationship management
  • Being resourceful and effectively working within a budget and achieving maximum brand penetration through innovative thinking and building great relationships with PR and Marketing agencies
  • Ensuring all product and brand-related copy and communications are engaging, accurate and on-brand
  • Ensuring the brand is adequately protected with registered trademarks in all relevant local and international jurisdictions
  • Effectively supporting the Supply Chain team in all new product development and ensuring new products are innovative and in-line with overall brand positioning
