Join cafe Zen Den in leafy Eltham, Melbourne, as a Full-Time Head Barista. You'll be joining a passionate group of hospitality professionals striving to bring an incredible, accessible specialty coffee experience to one of Melbourne's best suburbs. Working closely with Proud Mary Coffee Roasters, with a focus on quality, consistency and community.

Zen Den is a bustling, community-focused cafe which has become the beating heart of Eltham. With a drive for warm customer service and passion for seasonal, creative dishes, all house baked desserts, serving incredibly consistent and outstanding Proud Mary espresso blends and rotating single-origin filter coffee, whilst tying everything together in our historic hundred year old building, bursting with character! We are currently hiring a skilled and passionate Full-Time Head Barista, hoping they'll join and have the necessary skills to join our dynamic team. As the Head Barista , you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the high standards of our coffee offerings to our valued customer base. The Key Responsibilities entail: * Train and supervise a team of baristas, providing guidance and fostering a positive work environment, ensuring quality in products and customer service. * Prepare and serve a wide variety of specialty coffee beverages, including chai, matcha, turmeric, tea and iced drinks, efficiently and consistently. * Manage the inventory for the coffee bar including ordering coffee, milk, chai, and other supplies. * Ensuring all coffee-making equipment is maintained, cleaned and in good working order. * Provide our local community with excellent customer service, engaging with them on a daily basis to enhance their coffee experience in our space. * At least one weekend day is required. The successful applicant will hold a proven experience as a Barista, with a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role. Your in-depth knowledge of specialty coffee, including different brewing methods and coffee origins will be obvious. You will have experience using state of the art brewing equipment such as a PuqPress, UberMilk, Mazzer Robur E Grinder, Moccamaster and La Marzocco Linea PB. You'll have a strong ability to work calmly, cleanly and effectively in an intense, fast paced environment whilst communicating with our team clearly.
