Why It’s Better To Post A Job Ad Now Than In January

Land the best talent for your business before anyone else.

We’re about to hit the most critical recruitment period of the year, and if you’re looking to recruit the best talent, you should start the process now.

From Christmas onwards, job search on Scout will increase substantially, and will continue to do so until mid-January.

Job listings are also expected to jump. With the silly season upon us, most hiring managers have now put hiring on the backburner until next year. If history is anything to go by, Scout job applications will increase by 60 per cent in January and a further 65 per cent in February.

What’s important to note here is there is a significant delay between the boom in job searches and job listings being posted, as most hiring manager won’t get around to posting an ad until mid-January. That’s why, if you want a competitive edge, we suggest posting yours ASAP.

FYI, according to a recent Indeed study, 20 per cent of people make finding a new job of one their new year’s resolution, with 1 in 13 of those looking to cross into a new industry.
