Salary: $79,500 – $90,000 per annum plus superannuation

The Opportunity

Fuel Services Australia Pty Ltd is seeking a qualified and experienced Fitter (General) to join our team in Nudgee, Queensland. The successful applicant will undertake the installation, assembly, maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment, machinery and fuel infrastructure systems.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Study engineering drawings and specifications to determine materials, methods and sequences of operation.
• Fit fabricated metal parts into products and assemble metal parts and sub-assemblies to produce machinery and equipment.
• Diagnose faults and perform repairs on mechanical equipment and machinery.
• Carry out preventative and breakdown maintenance activities.
• Check fabricated and assembled metal parts for accuracy, clearance and fit using precision measuring instruments.
• Install, maintain and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Perform operational maintenance, overhaul and repair of mechanical components and fluid power equipment.
• Ensure all work is completed in accordance with workplace health and safety requirements.
• Maintain accurate maintenance and service records.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience

Applicants must possess:

• An AQF Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade (Fitting) or equivalent trade qualification, including relevant on-the-job training, or an AQF Certificate IV qualification in a related mechanical trade field.
• A minimum of one (1) year of full-time post-qualification experience as a Fitter (General) or in a closely related occupation.
• Demonstrated ability to install, maintain and repair mechanical equipment and machinery.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding skills.
• Commitment to workplace safety and quality standards.
• Current driver's licence preferred.
