About Komeyui Restaurant
Our founder, Kuma, hails from a fishing village in Hokkaido and has brought with him to Australia his discipline and perfection for authentic, handmade Japanese cuisine. Kuma wants you to enjoy traditional Japanese food in an authentic way – gathered with friends and family around a table, sharing various delightful dishes."
THE MEANING BEHIND ‘KOMEYUI’ RESTAURANT Our name and logo itself symbolise a traditional Japanese group meal where family and friends gather together and sit around the table on which there is a large hotpot and a tray of rice dishes, including gohan (steam rice), and side dishes such as natto (fermented cooked soya beans), temaki (hand-rolled sushi), yakizakana (grilled fish) and miso soup.
