Assistant Hospitality Manager – Shaw + Smith (Adelaide Hills)

Shaw + Smith is one of Australia’s leading cool-climate wine producers, with a focus on site, season and precision. Our Tasting Room sits at the heart of this — a place where hospitality and wine come together in a relaxed but highly considered way.

We are looking for an Assistant Hospitality Manager to join our team - a role suited to an experienced hospitality professional looking to transition into the wine industry, without leaving behind high standards of service and leadership. Our Tasting Room in Balhannah is just 25 minutes from the Adelaide CBD.

The Opportunity

As part of the Sales & Marketing team, you’ll work closely with the Hospitality Manager to lead day-to-day operations of the Tasting Room, guiding a small, high-performing team and delivering thoughtful, engaging guest experiences in our Cellar Door including Tastings, Balhannah Tours, Events & Functions, Masterclasses, and off-site events.

About You

You might currently be a:

• Restaurant Manager
• Assistant Venue Manager
• Senior Supervisor ready to step up

You bring:

• Strong floor leadership and the ability to run service with confidence
• A genuine interest in wine (knowledge is a bonus, not a requirement)
• A calm, solutions-focused approach to busy services
• A desire to move into a role with more balance, while still working at a high standard

The Role

• Lead day-to-day Tasting Room operations
• Support, train and motivate the team on shift
• Deliver warm, informed and engaging guest experiences
• Manage service flow, bookings and guest communications
• Act as a key escalation point for both guests and team
