Karulo

Calling Karulo a neighbourhood café doesn’t quite cut it. Sure, we love our locals, but we think of our little corner shop as a place where you can take a break—a home away from home, if you will.

We’re here to be used: as your go-to café to catch up with friends, a special place where you can spoil your children, or a spot where you can set up your laptop and we won’t move you along.

Admittedly, we’re a little obsessed with coffee. The whole room has been designed around our shiny, custom-white La Marzocco machine. Wide Open Road beans from Brunswick are our caffeine of choice, alongside rotating guest blends, such as Market Lane and Small Batch.

For your belly, Karulo serves all the brunch favourites, hot crusty rolls for lunch, and sweet treats from Little Bertha to finish. If you’re vegetarian or gluten intolerant, we cater for that, too.

Next time you visit, why not pull up a seat at our handmade communal table and get to know your neighbours? Or if the sun is peeking out, there’s no better place than our courtyard, surrounded by fresh herbs and olives that appear on your plate.

In case you’re interested, we used to be a milk bar once upon a time. That was a while ago now, but if you need to stock up on bread, milk, coffee or homemade jam, you still can.

And by the way, Karulo means ‘darling’ in Spanish.

You’re welcome, anytime.
