Each episode features an interview with a different artist, and focuses on the creative process behind a particular song. You’ll find yourself exposed to sounds from deep within the mix that you may have missed before, as well as the stories behind lyrics and the creative process. If you’re into cameras, look no further than The Art of Photography for some inspiration. Created by photographer and filmmaker Ted Forbes back in 2008, the long-running video podcast offers a variety of episode formats. Although episodes are only released once a month, On Writing is always worth the wait. Developed by Melbourne-based writer Joshua Pomare, each episode is a deep conversation with a different author. It’s the perfect podcast for any creative mind because of the range of topics it covers, and the guests it features. Self-described as “Sometimes educational, sometimes off topic, but always entertaining”, host Mark Brickey delves into both the professional and personal aspects of design and creativity in general. In fact, being late to discover this podcast has an upside – there are more than 400 past episodes to treat yourself, too.
The Accidental Creative is possibly the most practical of all creatively focused podcasts. Host Todd Henry explores and shares methods and ideas for building a brilliant career as a creative. Past episodes have covered topics such as How to get your side hustle going while dealing with the stress of everyday life, as well as How to make the most of opportunities on a daily basis.
