Melbourne Event: Coffee Cupping With Industry Experts

Learn how to identify different blends by smell, taste and even sight.

Coffee cupping with Melbourne roaster Criteria Coffee and its supplier Far More will give the opportunity for baristas or people interested in the technical side of the trade to expand their coffee knowledge and palate.

You’ll learn how to identify different blends by smelling and tasting, as well as how to simplify your language around coffee. The class is open to people with any level of coffee knowledge.

Tickets are free, and attendees will be able to indulge in tasting and comparing coffees to develop their coffee palate with commentary from expert coffee connoisseurs.

Criteria Coffee is one of Melbourne’s leading co-roasting spaces, where you can facilitate your own production of coffee beans and learn the behind-the-scenes of roasting.

Criteria is run by Australia’s first Q-Arabica instructor Craig Simon, who has used his 20 years of experience to develop a business centered around building a community and sharing knowledge.

Far More promotes sustainable and traceable coffee networks, with a goal to have fair practices for the environment and farmers involved at all stages of the growing and distribution process.

The coffee cupping event will see the two expert businesses collaborate to teach participants to develop their understanding of coffee.

Coffee cupping with Far More x Criteria Coffee: May is on Tuesday May 23 at 37 Wirraway Drive, Port Melbourne, from 4:30pm to 6:30pm.
