This July, Melbourne’s The Wheeler Centre will host New York reporter Brian Reed for an hour-long talk about the world of podcasts – recommended for journalists, digital media enthusiasts and fans of the hugely popular series’ Serial and This American Life.
Reed and his team are the creators of S-Town, a fascinating podcast released in March, centred on eccentric Alabama resident John B. McLemore. It has broken records for the medium, achieving more than 40 million downloads, and has awakened debate on the virtues and challenges of long-form audio journalism.
