The 2022 Nestle Golden Chef’s Hat Award is looking for chefs aged between 16 and 25 to showcase their kitchen skills. The competition gives young chefs the opportunity to test their skills against their peers and learn from experienced industry heads.
To enter, all you have to do is fill out an online form. Successful entrants will compete in 15 cook-off heats held around Australia and New Zealand. Then 12 chefs will be selected from the heats to represent their regions in a final cook-off at Melbourne’s Fine Food Australia event in September.
The competition winner takes home a $10,000 cash prize, with $2500 tuition prizes given to the finalists with the best savoury dish and best dessert. There are also two $1000 kitchen equipment prizes rewarded to the chefs behind the most sustainable dish and most creative dish in the competition. All 12 finalists will also receive $299 worth of kitchen equipment.
