Over the next few months, Scout will be going into some of the country's best offices.
With its cool, industrial aesthetic and lively colour scheme, “Harvie’s" room wouldn’t be hard to mistake the space for a cosmopolitan cafe. There are generously sized windows, terrariums, a large balcony, a TV, a foosball table and a fully stocked bar.
The space was built in 2013 by Bates Smart interior design and named after executive chairman and industry figurehead Peter Harvie.
Harvie's room acts as both a lunchtime hangout and an area for work collaboration, informal meetings and Friday night drinks.
According to CEO Chris Howatson: “We wanted our built environment to create a competitive advantage – bring people together, facilitate interaction, but also have the workplace feel like home. I feel like Bates Smart achieved all of these things.”
