Who We Are:

Wandilla Gippsland-Fine Meats and Provedore is a newly established shop, set to open in late September this year within Prahran Market. Although based in Melbourne, our roots lie in South Gippsland, where our farm produces the finest quality dairy products, wine, and meats. Our aim is to bring the heart and soul of Gippsland’s rich produce to our local Melbourne community, not only by offering our own farm’s products but also by showcasing the best from other exceptional makers in the region.

Our 45-square-metre store is designed to feel like you’re stepping into a warm and welcoming home kitchen, the heart of any home. We stock only the highest quality Gippsland products, and our team members serve as hosts, helping customers create restaurant-quality meals at home or for their special gatherings.

Tasks & Responsibilities

• Product Knowledge: Have a deep understanding of Wandilla's selection of Gippsland cheeses, wines, and meats, and be able to sell and upsell with ease and confidence in a fast-paced environment.
• Customer Service: Value excellent, personalised customer service and possess strong communication skills.
• Experience Delivery: Commit to delivering an unforgettable and sincere Wandilla Gippsland cheese, wine  and meat experience for every Wandilla customer.
• Health & Safety: Follow health and safety protocols diligently.
• Quality Maintenance: Maintain high-quality standards and ensure proper care of all products, especially cheese.
• Customer Loyalty: Work to create customer loyalty through individualized service.
• Event Support: Be available for weekend work and occasional evenings when we host events, or tastings. (rare)
• Team Collaboration: Work autonomously toward common goals and as part of a vibrant, supportive team.

Qualifications & Experience

• RSA Certification: Current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certification.
• Driver’s License: Valid driver’s license.
• Language Skills: Proficiency in English.
• Customer Focus: A strong focus on customer service.
• Personality: Friendly, helpful, confident, and engaging personality.
• Administrative Skills: Basic administration skills.
• Consumer Insight: Familiarity with consumer behavior principles.
• Mathematical Skills: Basic math skills.
• Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, capable of building trusting relationships.
• Adaptability: Ability to perform in fast-paced environments.
• Schedule Flexibility: Flexibility to work various shifts, with weekend work being compulsory.
• Sales & Service: Basic understanding of sales principles and customer service practices.
• Passion for Produce: A love of cheese is a bonus; knowledge of wine and beneficial. WSET Level 2 would be greatly considered
• Hygiene Standards: Maintain a high level of cleanliness in both work and personal hygiene.
• Teamwork: Ability to work within a small team without drama and ego but with your own flair.
