Assistant Venue Manager

Bar Olo is an Italian wine bar in the heart of Carlton which celebrates a seasonal food menu using fresh produce from the owners farm in Romsey. We have an extensive wine list which focuses on wines from Piemonte and the Barolo region, with 30+ wines also offered by the glass!

About the role

• A full-time position suppporting and reporting to the Venue Manager
• Assisting with the daily operations, ensuring smooth service of the highest standard in a small and fast-paced venue
• Leading by example to the rest of the Bar Olo team, promoting a positive working environment and culture
• Key responsibilities will involve running services, cashing off, active participation in all aspects of training our team
• Provide expert wine and food recommendations for guest experiences
• Deliver an outstanding guest experience, building strong relationships with our regular and new guests
• Help maintain menu consistency and quality
• Monitoring stock levels and ordering supplies as needed

 The ideal candidate

• 3+ years of experience in hospitality with strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• An excellent communicator who is warm, personable and engaging with guests and colleagues
• You have a personal passion for food and wine and this shows within your work, with a strong understanding of Italian cuisine and wine
• WSET certification or very strong wine knowledge with confidence in selling wine
• You're hands-on and proactive with a sense of urgency
• Have an up-to-date RSA
