Full-Time | $62,000–$75,000 + Super (Depending on Experience)
We’re on the hunt for a skilled Chef to take the reins of our modern diner-style café in the heart of Prahran. This is a hands-on role for someone who loves creating comforting, flavour-packed food with a polished edge — think elevated classics, great produce, and fast-paced service with a smile. With an executive chef that runs other venues it’s a great opportunity for someone who would like some tutelage and expand their wings with support from others.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Running the day-to-day kitchen operations, from prep to pass
Designing and refining a crowd-pleasing, seasonal diner-style menu
Managing stock, ordering, and kitchen systems
Maintaining high standards of food safety, consistency, and presentation
Leading and motivating a small kitchen team
Working closely with ownership and an existing executive chef to evolve the concept and keep things fresh
What We’re Looking For:
Experience as a Sous Chef or Head Chef in a café, bistro, or casual dining setting
Strong organisational and leadership skills
A passion for modern comfort food and local produce
Ability to work efficiently under pressure and keep a calm, positive kitchen vibe
A team player who takes pride in quality and consistency
