Lead our new all-inclusive West Melbourne Cafe as Site Manager! Hands on role in food, drinks and cafe operations, providing 1:1 support to our trainees. Make an impact, grow with ATE and shape inclusive hospitality.
All Things Equal is a social enterprise empowering people with disability through award-wage employment, purposeful training, and pathways to rewarding careers in hospitality. We exist to bridge the gap between people with disability and the wider community. In four short years, we have delivered training to 84+ participants, provided employment for 31 young people with disability, paid over $600,000 in award wages, and seen 11 trainees secure employment with mainstream employers.
We’re entering an exciting period of growth and are thrilled to be opening a new café in West Melbourne in February 2026. This is a unique opportunity to join our team and make a real impact from day one.
The RoleWe are looking for an all-round experienced café superstar to lead our West Melbourne site. You will oversee the day-to-day operations, leading by example in food and drink preparation, and working collaboratively with both employees and trainees to create a positive, supportive and meaningful environment. Providing 1:1 support to trainees participating in our Employment Pathway Program will be a key part of your role, while ensuring every customer enjoys a fantastic café experience.
You’ll be at the heart of the café’s operations, preparing sandwiches, salads, and beverages, managing stock and ordering, and maintaining food safety and quality standards. You don’t need to be a chef, but you must be confident and competent in the kitchen!
While West Melbourne will be a small-scale cafe, there are exciting growth opportunities for the right candidate, making this a chance to get your foot in the door at ATE and grow into a bigger leadership role in the near future.
Our Dream CandidateOur dream candidate is an experienced hospitality professional who brings warmth, energy, and genuine care to every interaction. They thrive on customer engagement and know how to create welcoming, memorable experiences with a hospitality-first mindset.
They are an inspiring, hands-on leader with a proven track-record in motivating, guiding and developing team members. Leading by example, they demonstrate professionalism, patience, and strong interpersonal and advocacy skills in all settings.
Passionate about inclusion, they connect easily with people of all abilities and backgrounds, naturally building rapport and providing guidance as others learn. Adaptable and calm under pressure, they are motivated by work that creates meaningful impact, growth, and opportunities for others. This role is ideal for someone with people-focused energy, a flair for personalised support, and a genuine desire to make a difference.
An NDIS Worker Clearance and a First Aid Certificate are essential for this role (or a willingness to obtain these).
What We’re OfferingIf you’re a cafe professional looking for a hands-on leadership role where you can make a meaningful difference, we would love to hear from you.
