Bar Manager – Misfits Footscray
Misfits is a late-night bar and music venue in the heart of Footscray focused on underground music culture, live performances, DJs, community events, and great hospitality.
We’re looking for an experienced Bar Manager to help run venue operations across Thursday–Sunday nights. This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who thrives in fast-paced nightlife environments, understands music venues, and can confidently lead a small team while maintaining strong operational standards.
Role Details
- 26–30 hours per week
- Thursday to Sunday nights
- Pay rate dependent on experience and candidate suitability
- Potenital profit share for the right candidate and happy to discuss this after 1 years work st the venue.
Key Responsibilities
- Running venue service and managing nightly operations
- Leading and motivating a small FOH/bar team
- Cash handling, reconciliation, and end-of-night reporting
- Staff training and shift management
- Rostering and labour management
- Hiring and onboarding new staff
- Weekly KPI and venue performance reporting
- Ordering and stock management
- Assisting with costing and operational controls
- Maintaining venue standards, systems, and procedures
About You
You should have:
- Previous experience managing teams in bars, pubs, or music venues
- Strong understanding of live music and DJ venue operations
- Confidence setting up and troubleshooting basic audio equipment, DJ gear, and live sound systems
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to stay calm under pressure in busy late-night environments
- Good organisational and reporting skills
- A hands-on attitude and willingness to jump in where needed
- Cocktail, beer, wine and spirits knowledge
- Experience with venue reporting systems, ordering platforms, or POS systems
Bonus Points
- Experience with events or live music programming
