Gilbees Wine Bar & Restaurant in Abbotsford is looking for a passionate head chef or sous chef who wants to take the next step and grow their career. We focus on gourmet small plates, celebrating Australian seafood with an all Australian wine list.
This role offers great work life balance only operating Thursday-Sunday.
Gilbees Wine & Bar & Restaurant is a tight-nit team that provides a welcoming and inclusive enviroment for all staff and guests.
We are looking for a head chef or sous chef who wants to take control of the kitchen, work closely with the owner and help to grow our already highly rated food offering.
Our menu consists of classic wine bar snacks, gourmet small plates and simple mains which celebrate local & sustainable Australian seafood. We are looking for a chef who wants to have an influence on the menu, create and enjoy their cooking.
Key Responsibilityies:
- All ordering and preparation of food
- Understanding of food costing
- Collaboration to create new seasonal menu items
- Keeping clean work area and maintaining foodsafty standards
- Ability to operate independantly
- Training and mentor junior staff
Must be available evenings and weekends. No late nights with kitchen closing at 9:15pm. Gilbees operates Thursday-Sunday.
