This is a chance to get in on the ground floor of a brand-new project. We’re seeking a creative and organised cook who will work closely with the business owner to bring an innovative menu to life. This role offers the exciting opportunity to lead the kitchen design, shape the menu, and build a team from the ground up.
Creative Freedom
Lead the design of the kitchen and menu, with the chance to bring all your fresh ideas to the table.
Career Growth
We have big dreams and need value-aligned folks to execute them. We are looking to invest, and are open to discussing equity and shares for the right candidate.
Supportive Environment
Collaborate directly with the business owner, who will provide guidance and support to bring your culinary ideas to life.
Work-Life Balance
Build a schedule that works for you! With the shop opening from Wednesday - Sunday, you will have reliable days off.
Lifestyle Upgrade
Located in Warrandyte, enjoy a serene and scenic workplace while still being close to Melbourne.
Passionate & Creative
A chef with a deep love for food and creativity to help shape a dynamic menu. If you’re someone that has a million recipes saved, loves fermenting, is a bit of a hobby-gardener, and is excited to experiment with new flavours - you might be our perfect fit! Although the menu will be shaped by the owner’s Japanese heritage, we encourage you to bring your own culture and background into the menu as well.
Leadership Skills
Strong organisational skills and accountability are key. This will be a small operation, so we will rely on excellent communication skills and the ability to lead. You don’t need to have a long resume with a history of leadership - we will see the potential in you. We will give you the template to success, but we need your commitment to execute.
Commitment
A dedicated team player who is enthusiastic about being part of a small business and contributing to its long-term success.
Takeaway Menu Experience
The menu will focus on baked goods, salads, sandwiches, pastries, and other easy to prepare meals. Previous experience that aligns with this style of preparation will be preferred.
An interest or experience in Japanese cuisine is preferred but not essential.
We welcome applications from all walks of life. We pride ourselves on prioritising a safe and inclusive workplace for all.
Please apply with confidence that you will be treated with respect.
If this project speaks to you, but your experience doesn’t match, please still apply!
