Boyer Jones Group is looking for an experienced full time Pastry Cook to work at Reverie Prahran.
The successful applicant will be willing to work hard in one of Melbourne's busiest restaurants.
In this role you will be:
Preparing and cooking food with colleagues, while adhering to dietary requirements
kneading, maturing, cutting, moulding, mixing and shaping dough and pastry goods
preparing pastry fillings
monitoring oven temperatures to ensure optimal baking
baking, unloading, de-panning and cooling of batches of brioche, rolls and pastry products
glazing buns and pastries, and decorating cakes with cream and icing
Seasoning food during cooking
Examining food to ensure quality
Portioning food, plating, adding sauces and garnishes
Follow the guidance of the executive and/or sous chef and have input in new ways of presentation or dishes
Optimizing the cooking process with attention to speed and quality
Storing food
Adhering to strict health and hygiene standards
Helping to maintain a climate of smooth and friendly cooperation
Skills required:
Relevant Diploma or Cert IV and at least 1 year of relevant experience, or at least 3 years of relevant
experience as a Pastry Cook in a busy kitchen.
Similar restaurant experience a must.
Ability to work on hot and cold sections a necessity.
