The Role
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead our kitchen team. This role is ideal for a chef who deeply respects traditional recipes and cultural heritage, while also having the creativity and confidence to introduce exciting new elements to our menu.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all kitchen operations and lead the culinary team
- Prepare and execute Madam Ruth’s traditional recipes with consistency and respect
- Develop new menu items that complement and enhance our existing offerings
- Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and hygiene
- Manage food cost control, ordering, and stock management
- Train, mentor, and support kitchen staff to foster a positive team environment
- Ensure full compliance with hygiene, health, and safety regulations.
About You
- Proven experience as a Head Chef or Senior Chef in a high-volume kitchen
- Strong understanding of Indonesian cuisine
- Creative, with the ability to innovate while preserving authenticity
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Committed to consistency, quality, and teamwork
- Reliable and seeking long-term stability in a respected, established business
- Ability to perform under pressure
- Business acumen and organisational skills
Qualifications and Experience
- Formal training in culinary arts, covering cooking techniques, food preparation, menu development, and business operations.
- Minimum qualification: Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or Kitchen Management.
- At least 3 years of full-time experience in a commercial kitchen focused on Indonesian cuisine is required.
