Sodafish is seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead our kitchen and culinary vision. The RoleAs Head Chef, you will be responsible for the overall management and direction of the kitchen, ensuring exceptional food quality, strong leadership, and smooth day-to-day operations.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading, mentoring, and developing the kitchen team
Designing and executing seasonal menus aligned with the Sodafish philosophy
Maintaining high standards of food quality, presentation, and consistency
Managing food costs, labour, and ordering within budget
Ensuring compliance with food safety, hygiene, and workplace regulations
Collaborating closely with front-of-house and management
You will be a motivated and skilled chef with a strong background in quality restaurants.
Essential requirements:
Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef in a comparable venue
Strong knowledge of seafood cookery and modern Australian cuisine
Proven leadership and team-building skills
Ability to manage kitchen operations, costing, and rosters
Relevant trade qualifications
Eligibility for TSS 482 visa sponsorship (or currently onshore with suitable visa status)
TSS 482 visa sponsorship for a suitable overseas candidate
