About the role
- Your responsibilities will include:
- Work 7.30am - 3.15pm across Monday-Thursday & 7:30am - 1:15 pm on Fridays
- Lead by example and manage your team of Barista & FOH Attendants.
- Facilitate the workplace training experience for STREAT’s young trainees, supported by our dedicated youth programs team who are always on hand to support you and your team.
- Ensure health and safety requirements are met.
- Ensure the day-to-day operations of the cafe run smoothly, whilst always striving for exceptional customer service.
- Maintain a pristine space, and take pride in the fine details.
- Foster an energetic and positive environemnt at all times.
Unique aspects of the role:
- You will manage the relationship between HESTA and STREAT, being the face of our organisation
- Not open to the public, but a high paced enviroment with much more customer connection
- Appearance and presentation is a key factor in this role.
- You will work with our Paid to Work employees, who have completed our Fast Track to Work program, to help further develop their skills and grow their employability.

About you
We’d love for you to have:
- A genuine passion for hospitality.
- Excellent leadership and motivational skills.
- A track record of managing COGs and Labour targets.
- Outstanding all round knowledge of Melbourne’s food and coffee culture.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Minimum 2 years' experience as a Barista in specialty coffee is essential.

About our team
We’re a team of over 100+ staff – mainly Baristas and Chefs – but also Youth Workers, Social Workers and a bunch of admin and support staff. Our team has four key traits: We dream big about changing the world, we’re creative in how we try and solve problems, we all roll up our sleeves and get stuff done - and we have fun doing it!
