Cafe Supervisor

Beku Gelato is an established cafe/gelato venue on Lygon St, Carlton, operating in a strong university corridor.

We're looking for a hands-on Venue Operator to take full responsibility for day-to-day operations and lead the venue into its next phase. This is not an office-based management role. You'll be running shifts, making coffee, scooping gelato, managing staff, handling suppliers, and keeping the business disciplined and steady. 

We're looking for someone experienced, practical and take ownership of daily operations and improve performance.

Responsibilities include:

• Leading shifts on the floor (coffee + gelato service)
• Managing staff, rostering and labour costs
• Ordering and supplier coordination
• Maintaining service standards and team culture
• Monitoring basic P&L and cost control
• Coordinating with our external media team (Instagram & TikTok direction, no content creation required)

You'll suit this role if you:

• Have experience running a cafe or casual dining venue
• Are confident managing small teams
• Understand labour percentages and cost discipline
• Prefer being hands-on rather than desk-bound
• Are open to a longer-term equity pathway

We're offering:

• $55k-$65k base (depending on experience)
• Performance-based incentives
