We are seeking an experienced and polished Maitre d’ / VIP Relations Manager to join one of Melbourne’s leading premium dining venues.
This is a unique opportunity for a hospitality professional who thrives in luxury service environments and has a genuine passion for creating exceptional guest experiences. You will play a key role in managing VIP clientele, cultivating guest relationships, and ensuring seamless front-of-house operations for high-profile and high-spending guests.
About the Role
As Maitre d’ / VIP Relations Manager, you will be responsible for delivering elevated and highly personalised guest experiences while proactively identifying opportunities to grow and retain VIP clientele.
Key Responsibilities
- Personally welcome and host VIP guests, high-net-worth clientele and special groups
- Oversee VIP seating arrangements, table flow and service coordination
- Build and maintain detailed guest profiles including preferences, dietary requirements and special occasions
- Act as the key liaison between the restaurant and reservations/call centre teams for VIP bookings and requests
- Identify and cultivate new VIP guests through service engagement and reservation analysis
- Coordinate closely with sommeliers, kitchen and events teams to deliver flawless guest experiences
- Manage VIP reporting metrics including guest spend, repeat visitation and satisfaction
- Handle guest concerns with professionalism, discretion and efficiency
- Mentor and train front-of-house teams on luxury service standards and upselling techniques
- Support VIP event planning and execution
About You
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in upscale or fine dining hospitality
- Previous experience in a senior FOH leadership or guest relations role preferred
- Proven experience managing VIPs, high profile guests or premium clientele
- Strong knowledge of reservation systems such as SevenRooms, Resy or OpenTable (desired but not essential)
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Highly polished presentation and professional phone manner
- Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure service environments
- Flexible availability including evenings, weekends and public holidays
