About the Position
We are seeking an experienced Chef / Chef de Partie (CDP) to join our professional kitchen team in a full-time permanent position.
Reporting to the Executive Chef, Head Chef and Sous Chefs, you will be responsible for the preparation and presentation of high-quality food across our busy lunch, dinner, functions and event services.
This is a hands-on position suited to an experienced Chef who enjoys working in a busy commercial kitchen and takes pride in producing consistently high-quality food.
Key Responsibilities
Preparing, cooking and presenting dishes to required recipe and presentation standards
Managing an allocated kitchen section during service
Completing daily food preparation and mise en place
Working efficiently during high-volume service periods
Preparing and cooking fresh, seasonal and locally sourced produce
Following recipes and maintaining consistent portion sizes and presentation
Assisting with menu preparation and implementation as directed by the Executive Chef, Head Chef and Sous Chefs
Monitoring food quality and freshness
Assisting with stock rotation, storage and stock control
Minimising food wastage
Maintaining high standards of food safety, hygiene, cleanliness and sanitation
Maintaining kitchen equipment and work areas in a clean and safe condition
Working collaboratively with the Executive Chef, Head Chef, Sous Chefs and wider kitchen team
Assisting with the training and support of junior kitchen team members where required
Complying with workplace health and safety requirements and relevant food safety legislation
Contributing to the smooth and efficient operation of the kitchen
About You
To be successful in this position, you will have:
A minimum of 3 years' relevant experience working as a Chef in a professional commercial kitchen
Demonstrated experience working in a busy, high-volume hospitality environment
Experience working across a range of kitchen sections
Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques and commercial kitchen operations
Experience working with fresh and seasonal produce
A strong understanding of food safety and hygiene requirements
Good organisational and time-management skills
The ability to work calmly and efficiently during busy service periods
The ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to food quality
A relevant Certificate III or Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery, Hospitality or an equivalent qualification, or relevant skills and experience
Availability to work a rotating seven-day roster, including evenings, weekends, public holidays and split shifts where required
Previous experience in a hotel, pub, restaurant or regional hospitality environment will be highly regarded
