When it comes to financial support, it can be difficult to know where to start. In partnership with Law Squared, we take the guesswork out of the process.
Covid has thrown many challenges at businesses over the past year and a half. The gains of last summer seem to have been undone, and we’re finding ourselves in a tricky spot again – this time with less consistent government support.
Discussions around mandatory Covid vaccinations for employees and the financial pressures of rental commitments can leave business owners confused and seeking advice. To help ease some of the pressure, we’re partnered with our friends at Law Squared and created some free resources to help businesses navigate these challenges.
With both Victoria and New South Wales releasing new rental relief measures for commercial and retail leases, and with some greater guidance being provided on vaccinations in the workplace, Law Squared has created the following free resources:
Given the substantial differences between the 2020 and current regulations, the Law Squared Fact Sheet provides great insight into the changes. You can utilise the template letter to form the basis of your rental relief request with your landlord. There are a series of input fields and comments throughout the letter to assist you in customising the letter for your business/leasing needs.
The Regulations outlines a number of tests to be applied to determine the rent waiver and deferral amounts. Law Squared has created a calculator to help you calculate the relevant amounts.
You can then utilise the template letter which should form the basis of your rental relief request with your landlord. There are a series of input fields and comments throughout the letter to assist you in customising the letter for your business/leasing needs. These resources are now available for free through the Law Squared website.
If you have any questions related to either the rental relief resources, you can reach out to Law Squared founder Demetrio Zema (dzema@lawsquared.co) or a member of the Law Squared team. They’re more than happy to help out.
