We are a wine and oyster bar located in the heart of St Kilda known for our freshly shucked oysters, ever changing food menu, winning cocktails, and extensive bottle list. After opening 8 months ago we are seeking someone with passion and experience to take a key role in business development as we grow and the summer approaches.

 

There aren’t many times that you’ll hear that a ‘neighbourhood’ has an oyster bar, but we consider ourselves this because we are here for and at the service of the neighbourhood. A humble, relaxed atmosphere gives space for locals and visitors to unwind with a great glass of wine whilst listening to our eclectic collection of records. We want everyone to feel at home here as they read through the cocktails, wine and food written on our specials mirror.

We opened the venue in late November 2023 and are eagerly anticipating the warmer months when St Kilda comes to life. The full time role of Restaurant Manager is pivotal in the development of the business. They will work alongside the owners to nuture and grow the business whilst having a very active input into all day to day operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Help lead and manage the team, fostering a welcoming and hospitable environment for both staff and patrons.
  • Monitor wage cost percentages.
  • Create and implement systems of organisation.
  • Manage stock, including ordering and inventory control.
  • Ensure efficient use of POS systems and back-office operations.
  • Work directly with the business owners to execute recruitment and HR processes.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and safety of the venue.
  • Continue to develop connections with our local community of regulars guests.

 

The ideal candidate will have: 

  • 2An established interested in and experience working with wine.
  • Previous hospitality management experience.
  • The desire to enage with with guests and create memorable experiences for them.
  • A strong understanding of formal food/restaurant service (we are a casual venue but love to go the extra mile for our guests).
  • Weekend and evening ongoing availability. 
  • Experience with staff rostering and managing wage costs.
  • Full working rights in Australia.
