We are known for our quality, seasonal produce, delectable snacks, and carefully curated wine selections. What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking our next Senior Sommelier, someone who shares our passion for wine and exceptional service! As the curator of our wine experience, you’ll be the soul of our venue, guiding our guests through an unforgettable journey of flavours and aromas. You’ll lead a dedicated team with a flair for creativity and innovation, delivering warm, consistent, and memorable wine experiences that keep guests coming back for more. In our venue, everyone may not know your name, but they will certainly remember your wine recommendations!
Key Responsibilities
- Provide knowledgeable and personable wine service, delivering warm and genuine hospitality with every recommendation.
- Assist in leading a small, passionate team, fostering professional growth through regular wine training and tastings.
- Develop, implement, and train staff on wine service standards and procedures, including wine and beverage pairings.
- Collaborate with the management team to maintain and expand a diverse wine list, including a dynamic selection of wines by the glass.
- Contribute to the growth and direction of the wine program, ensuring it aligns with the venue's overall vision and goals.
- Work with the senior leadership team to host in-house wine events, dinners, and other community-focused experiences highlighting our wine offerings.
- Oversee operational and financial responsibilities related to the wine program, including inventory management, supplier relationships, and guest inquiries.
Key Selection Criteria
- Experience in a similar caliber wine/beverage role
- WSET Level 3 or CMS Certified Sommelier training is preferred, but not compulsory
- Bartending and cocktail knowledge is preferred, but not compulsory
- Impeccable personal presentation
- Strong work ethics, leadership, time management, and communication skills
- Passionate about enhancing guest experiences through their knowledge of food, wine, and service
