Casual Chef
Bar Romantica
Bar Romantica is seeking a casual chef to join our kitchen team. The position is suited to an individual that enjoys working in a small team, and ideally has experience with fresh pasta and woodfired pizza.
There is an opportunity for the role to grow into a full time position.
The position offers three-four shifts per week, comprising 25-30 hours weekly. The roster is flexible and recognises the work/life balance required from a casual employee.
As a casual chef at Romantica, you will be responsible for maintaining a section in relation to:
- Ensuring a high level of consistency and execution across prep and service
- Setting up & packing down
- Overseeing food hygiene standards
- Monitoring stock on hand, portioning, and waste management
- Overseeing the management of kitchen food safety standards
- Working closely with the Head Chef
The Ideal Candidate Must Have:
- A strong ethic for local, organic, and seasonal food
- Experience working with fresh pasta
- (Ideally) Experience with pizza dough and/or bread making
- A focus on quality and consistency
- Empathy and the ability to build effective relationships
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Solution focused and possess initiative
