Bar Liberty, one of Melbourne's most celebrated wine bars and restaurants, is looking for a committed and capable Chef de Partie to join our kitchen team. Located in Fitzroy, Bar Liberty is known for its thoughtful, produce-driven menu and progressive wine list focused on minimal intervention producers. We work closely with local farmers and producers to deliver food that is ingredient-led and precise.
The Role:
As a Chef de Partie, you’ll work across multiple sections of the kitchen, supporting the team to deliver consistently excellent food. You’ll bring a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a commitment to learning and contributing to the wider team.
Key responsibilities include:
Preparing and plating dishes to a high standard during service
Maintaining a clean and well-organised section
Supporting daily prep and mise en place
Following kitchen procedures and food safety protocols
Communicating clearly and calmly during service
Taking direction from senior chefs and contributing to a respectful team culture
What We’re Looking For:
At least 1–2 years’ experience working in a quality kitchen in a chef de partie role
A genuine interest in seasonal, produce-led cooking
Reliability and the ability to stay calm under pressure
A team-first attitude and strong communication skills
