About Us
Hey there! We’re Bears Wine Bar – a small, tight-knit wine bar in North Melbourne that’s all about good food, great wine, and warm, relaxed hospitality. We’re a hands-on crew who genuinely love what we do, and we’re looking for someone who wants to be part of that energy in the kitchen.
The Role
We’re on the hunt for a Chef de Partie (CDP) – someone confident, capable, and keen to help keep our kitchen ticking. You’ll be working closely with ownership and FOH, taking responsibility for prepping, cooking, and plating consistently high-quality dishes. The right person will bring a sense of pride and ownership to the role, with opportunities to grow alongside us. Part-time or full-time hours are available; however, availability on Fridays and Saturdays is required.
What You’ll Be Doing
• Cooking and plating dishes with care, consistency, and attention to detail
• Managing your section and helping with broader kitchen prep and service
• Keeping the kitchen clean, organised, and in line with food safety standards
• Jumping in to help with stock, orders, and occasional service tasks
• Working closely with FOH to ensure smooth, cohesive service
• Being part of a small, supportive team that values collaboration and good vibes
What We’re Looking For
• Previous experience as a CDP or strong Commis looking to step up
• Comfortable working solo or as part of a small team
• Passionate about good food, seasonal ingredients, and thoughtful execution
• Reliable, relaxed, and ready to roll on weekends
• Someone who wants to be part of something growing – not just clock in and out
