Nestled within the historic and beautiful Abbotsford Convent, Julie Restaurant is more than a dining destination, it’s a place where food, community, and culture intertwine. Guided by the seasons and inspired by produce grown in our own kitchen garden and the neighbouring Collingwood Children’s Farm, our menus are abundant, generous, and deeply connected to heart and home.
We’re looking for a Senior Sous Chef to join our dedicated team. This is an opportunity to work alongside Chef Jules Blum and Head Gardener Cate Della Bosca, collaborating on a constantly evolving menu that celebrates the freshest seasonal produce.

The Role :
As our Sous Chef, you’ll play a vital part in shaping the dining experience at Julie. You’ll support our Head Chef while taking ownership of day-to-day kitchen operations, ensuring the highest standard of food and service is delivered. This is a hands-on role with space for creativity, leadership, and growth.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead and support food preparation with a focus on quality, flavour, and presentation
- Collaborate on menu development driven by the seasons and the garden
- Manage ordering, stock control, and kitchen systems
- Maintain a safe, calm, and professional working environment
- Provide support across the business where needed – from service to events
