About the role
As a Chef with The Godfather Food Retailers, you will play a key role in the day-to-day management of kitchen operations. The position involves not only preparing and presenting high-quality dishes but also ensuring that the kitchen runs smoothly, efficiently, and in accordance with the highest industry standards. You will collaborate with management on innovative menu development, seasonal specials, and creative food presentations that align with our brand and customer expectations.
Responsibilities
In this role, your main duties will include, but are not limited to:
Preparing, cooking, and presenting a wide range of high-quality dishes consistently.
Supervising, motivating, and training kitchen staff to maintain a professional and productive work environment.
Managing inventory, stock rotation, and ensuring accurate cost control measures are implemented.
Monitoring portion sizes and waste to ensure food and labor costs remain within budget.
Ensuring strict compliance with food safety, hygiene, and occupational health standards.
Assisting with menu planning, including the introduction of new dishes, special promotions, and seasonal offerings.
Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment at all times.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you must meet the following criteria:
A minimum Diploma in Hospitality or equivalent qualification.
At least 2 years of proven experience as a Chef in a commercial kitchen or similar hospitality setting.
Strong knowledge of kitchen operations, food preparation techniques, and modern cooking trends.
Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage, mentor, and inspire kitchen staff.
A genuine commitment to teamwork, customer satisfaction, and maintaining high culinary standards.
What we offer

A competitive annual salary of $75,000 - $82,000 plus superannuation, based on experience and qualifications.
