We're looking for two front of house leaders -- one with a focus on functions and guest experience, and one focused on service and day-to-day operations. Both roles are hands-on, people-focused, and part of the core leadership team.
The Tippler & Co is an independent East Melbourne venue with a strong sense of history and a clear direction forward. While we’ve long been known as a great place to drink, our focus has naturally evolved to be more food-led, thoughtful, and service-driven — without losing the warmth and personality that make hospitality enjoyable.
We’re not trying to be a big group venue. We care about doing things properly, treating people fairly, and creating an environment where people feel supported and proud of the work they do. This next phase is about refining what we already have, improving together, and continuing to grow in a considered way.
We’re now looking to welcome two front of house leaders into our core team, with each role leaning into a different strength. Both positions are hands-on, people-focused, and play an important part in shaping the day-to-day feel of the venue.
Functions & Guest Experience Lead
This role suits someone who genuinely enjoys the guest journey and the communication side of hospitality. The focus includes:
Managing function enquiries and hosting site visits
Being the main point of contact for guests and event organisers
Coordinating functions from planning through to delivery
Working closely with the floor and kitchen to ensure events run smoothly
Building strong relationships with guests and regulars
Service & Operations Lead
This role suits someone who enjoys structure, service flow, and leading teams on the floor. The focus includes:
Leading services and setting the tone for the team
Supporting rosters, standards, and training
Maintaining consistency across service and presentation
Communicating closely with the kitchen and bar
Mentoring and supporting front of house staff
Both roles involve sharing ideas, contributing to improvements over time, and helping shape how the venue operates day to day.
You don’t need to “fix” the venue — we’re looking for people who want to be part of making a good thing even better.
