Umberto Espresso Bar is a long-standing Italian institution built on high standards, strong systems and community. We're seeking a driven Assistant Venue Manager who wants to help lead one of Melbourne's best neighbourhood restaurants.

 The role consists of:

  • Supporting the venue manager across multiple business facets
  • Daily operations of the venue
  • Responsibilities over rostering and COGS, meeting clear targets
  • Stock management
  • Updating PoS
  • Reservation management to maximise covers
  • Attending regular management meetings and facilitating team training
  • Successful implementation of team training achieving results
  • Healthy mix of admin and service - not all nights with 2 full days off a week

The role will require :

  • At least 2 years’ experience in hospitality management
  • Wine knowledge is essential
  • Attention to detail with excellent communication skills essential
  • An ability to see the bigger picture
  • Knowledge of Italian food and beverage would be advantageous
  • the frequent use and application of computers and systems is a non negotiable
