About Yakimono:
A creative tribute to the corruptible side of Japanese cuisine, Yakimono is an exuberant inner-urban Japanese eating house in the heart of the CBD.  The colourful and high energy Yakimono joined the LUCAS family in late 2021 in the newly developed 80 Collins precinct, next to the two Hat Society Restaurant.

About the Opportunity:
We are looking for a Commis Chef to join our team at Yakimono. You will be driven and genuinely passionate about cooking. This is an amazing opportunity to start your culinary journey and learn from the best in the industry. You will be a passionate and a highly energetic hospitality professional.

The Ideal Candidate Must Have:
  • Demonstrated experience in a commercial kitchen
  • Sushi experience is highly regarded 
  • Ability to effectively follow instructions and absorb new information
  • Team player and display a positive attitude
  • Use correct techniques and follow procedures and recipes when preparing and cooking menu items
  • Foundation knife skills and understanding of basic cookery terms and techniques
  • Time management during preparation and service periods
  • Calm and composed demeanour
  • Qualification in Commercial Cookery or equivalent experience
